SUMMARY:Midge Costin and Guests: Hollywood Sound
DESCRIPTION:Midge Costin\, features sound editor and director of the important and fascinating documentary Making Waves: The Art of Cinematic Sound\, leads a discussion on the current state of Hollywood sound with four masters of American film sound. They’ll discuss how changing styles of film narratives influence how soundtracks are conceived and produced. And they’ll reflect on the effects of streaming\, games and evolving technology on the function of sound in modern soundtracks. Key to this discussion\, as always\, is the role of the audience and how filmmakers think about their ‘end users’.
